Rain!!

It's finally raining! I know, nothing too much to write home about. But this summer has been so dry and according to the meteorologists, we are over 4" below ave for this summer. We went into the summer with a deficit, too. But we have gotten some much needed and celebrated rain this weekend. According to our handy rain gage, since Friday night we've gotten about 2"! It's amazing how much things have greened and perked up. No more brown and yuck. No more major fire risk. No more dry, brittle grass that hurts your feet when you walk barefooted. At least not for a few days, and hopefully the rest of the year. Maybe this is our break from the awful, dry cycle. We shall see. All I know is that it's raining and that's a good thing.
