Do you hear that?

Shhhh, do you hear that? Yeah, that. I hear it, too. Wanna know what it is? I'm told it's quiet and I think it's on the endangered species list, because we don't see too much of that around here. It's got to be at least a threatened species.

That's right, it's quiet here and it's only 7:30. We have been going non-stop for the last umpteen days and the girls have been showing it. I don't know how many times we've done time-outs today, I lost count on how many times I had to "remind" them to clean up and the number of unexplained melt-downs from the younger two is more than one hand-full of fingers. So I paraded them all upstairs and into the bathroom a full hour earlier than on a normal night with nothing going on. They fussed a bit, especially Alayna, since she's the only one that can tell time. She demanded to know why she was ready and climbing into bed at only 7:15 instead of 8:15. I reminded her of their behavior today and her own comment after supper that she was tired.

Now, only 15 minutes later, there's not a peep. All 3 girls are sound asleep. Andy's at a church council meeting. I am watching the olympics and catching up on my blog reading. All is good. I've even paused the tv a little just to enjoy that strange noise that's coming (or not) from my house.

I recommend you all get some. It's great.

Rare and endangered. Then again its so very sweet to enjoy it now. I am already dreading the days of an empty and quiet house.

Ahh, I could use some of that myself ...

I warned Maggie tonight that starting tomorrow (since the Olympics are now over), we're back to our old bedtime routine. No more staying up to watch gymnastics or Michael Phelps, no more falling asleep on the couch. Tomorrow it's bath, teeth, stories, and BED! ;-)
